Redeeming cancellation vouchers - how it works

If you cancel a saver fare ticket, DB usually issues you with a voucher.

You can use this voucher to purchase other DB offerings, such as a new train ticket. Our system uses the value of the voucher as payment.

Cancellation vouchers

  • are valid for 3 years after issuing
  • can be redeemed here: Travel Centres, DB agencies, bahn.com, DB Navigator and at DB ticket machines in Germany
  • are transferrable, i.e. you can give your voucher to someone else
  • may not be sold
  • cannot be exchanged for cash

NB: Combining vouchers and eCoupons

If you want to combine a cancellation voucher and an eCoupon and the total value of the vouchers is more than the ticket price, we are unfortunately unable to issue a voucher for the remaining value.
