Announcement of industrial action in France, due to start on Tuesday, 3 April 2018
Severe restrictions expected for cross-border services to and from Paris
Due to nationwide industrial action in France, employees involved in cross-border rail services are likely to stage a walkout on Tuesday, 3 April. Staff will stage rolling strikes, refusing to work on two successive days, followed by three days without industrial action. The dispute will probably severely restrict rail services to and from France. Based on current information, the strike will affect rail transport on the following days:
- Monday 23 April and Tuesday 24 April
- Saturday 28 April and Sunday 29 April
It is possible that the dispute could be extended to additional days.
For customers intending to travel to and from France on one of the days affected by strike action, we recommend travelling on a different date. Anyone who is affected and who would prefer not to embark on their booked journey can return or exchange their tickets free of charge. The refund form for cancelling tickets booked online is available here:

Please note: Passengers on international services also require a valid reservation for the train they plan to take.
DB and SNCF will do everything possible to ensure that customers have the best possible travel options on ICE and TGV trains on the days of the strike.
