Children aged 6-14 travel for free with their parents if they are included on the ticket. The number of children must be specified when purchasing the ticket.
The summer ticket is personalised and therefore non-transferable. Therefore,

Travellers using the summer ticket must complete at least part of their journey on an ICE, Intercity (IC) or Eurocity (EC) long-distance train. Local train services can be used before and after the long-distance section of the journey.
