Booking period: *The "Sparpreis Europa" (saver fare for Europe) is for sale 91 days before intended travel date up until 1 day beforehand. Exception: The "Sparpreis Europa" to/from Poland is only available up to 3 days before departure.
Validity period between outward and return journey: 15 days. Please book your outbound and return journey seperately if you intend to stay more than 15 days at your destination.
Itinerary: Cross-border routes between Germany and the relevant European destination.
Products: ICE or IC/EC cross-border on at least one section of the DB route; Pre- and post-carriage in local DB trains and in parallel running non-DB local trains is allowed.

City Night Line (you need to buy a supplement for a reservation in a sleeping, couchette or seated car).
Restrictions: When buying the ticket you will have to indicate your name and date. The ticket is not transferable and the train indicated on your ticket is the train you have to travel on.
Wagon classes: Available for travel in 1st and 2nd class.
Route deviation: Not possible.
BahnCard discount: Get an extra 25% discount with the BahnCard 25.
Accompanying persons: None.
Accompanying children: Please note that the fares for family children vary from country to country. The price will be shown in the booking. Children traveling alone pay half the adult fare.
Refunds/Exchange: Tickets can be reimbursed or exchanged up to one day before the start of the journey for a charge of 17.50 euros. After the 1st day of validity, tickets are exempt from being refunded or exchanged.
If you change your travel plans on the day of travel, the amount payable is the difference between the original and new fare plus a service charge of 17.50 euros per direction.
Special features: Special features for cross-border routes between Germany and Italy:
- via Austria: in transit via Kufstein–Brennero/Brenner to all stops for international, cross-border trains from/to Germany and Merano
- via Switzerland: in transit via Basel Bad-Chiasso/Iselle or Schaffhausen–Chiasso/Iselle to all stops for international trains from/to Milan.

Changing trains not allowed in Italy. (Exception: Merano, change trains in Bolzano)
