Rail junction Stuttgart : Modernisation of the S-Bahn main line

Deutsche Bahn is continuing the modernisation of the S-Bahn main line in Stuttgart during the summer holidays in Baden-Württemberg and is closing the tunnel in the city centre to train traffic for this purpose. As in previous years, the S-Bahn trains will run via tracks 1 to 5 in the main station above. This will also result in changes to the timetable planners for long-distance services. DB is equipping the main line with digital technology for the Digital Node Stuttgart pilot project and is carrying out extensive cable work. DB is also continuing the work to connect the S-Bahn to the new tunnel in the direction of Mittnachtstraße. Passengers will benefit from more and more reliable train journeys on the new infrastructure in future.

Note

The adjusted timetable planners can be found in the information and booking systems.

We recommend that you use the digital travel companion in the DB Navigator app with automatic notifications of changes to your booked or bookmarked journey during the construction site period in order to always see the latest timetable planners.
